New to the styling menu – finger waving!

Sarah’s Doo-Wop Do’s is pleased to be adding finger waving to the parlour menu. Finger waving came into fashion the 1920s as a way of softening the bobbed haircut that was also fashionable at the time and it remained popular in the 1930s and can even be seen in some 1940s styles too.

1920’s Hairstyles – The Finger Wave

Finger waving is done by moulding and shaping waves and ridges into the hair & differs from Marcel waves which are done with heated tongs. Finger waving conjures up images of flappers and Hollywood movie stars and was recently seen in the brilliant film ‘The Artist’ and the style is often seen  on modern stars such as Gwen Stefani, Dita Von Teese and Drew Barrymore.

Finger waving is a great way to glam up your outfit and looks amazing even on long hair. Prices for finger waving start at £30 for short hair – shoulder length hair is priced on request, the appointment will be a full hour to include hair drying time and hair will be dampened, waved, set and dried. To book in for a finger waving appointment just email here.
