‘Fashion on the Ration’ at Festival of History!

Practising 1940s headscarf styles as part of ‘Fashion on the Ration’.

I’m very excited to say that Sarah’s Doo-Wop Dos will be appearing at this years English Heritage event Festival of History 2012!

SDWD’s will be working with the fantastic Harry & Edna, vintage sweethearts to deliver several ‘Fashion on the Ration’ demonstrations covering many aspects of 1940s fashion, hair & beauty! So come along and gets some great 1940s style tips!

A ‘make do & mend’ project I did using a Pathe instructional film to turn a mens hat into a woman’s fashion hat.

We’ve even made it into the 2012 festival highlights
‘Second World War Vintage Fashion & Beauty (NEW!) – Fancy a new look? Pick up some wartime tricks and tips at these new demonstrations of fashion from the ’40s.’

We’ve had a lot of fun researching & practising for our demo’s as you can see form these pictures!

Showing Edna from ‘Harry and Edna, vintage sweethearts’ how to do vintage hairstyles.

Festival of History takes place July 14th & 15th with ‘Fashion on the Ration’ demo’s twice a day so plenty of chance to catch our show, have a look round our display tent & chat with us about 1940s fashion! Our demonstration and appearance at FoH has even made it into the 1940s magazine.

1940s Magazine.

Tickets for FoH can be bought here and we look forward to seeing everyone this weekend.
