On a very hot and sunny Sunday I headed out to an airfield with photography buddy Jez Brown (check out his new logo on the left, designed by Jason Kahl who also did this site). We were off to shoot a pin-up set with the awesome Lola Diamond. My dog joined us on the shoot and had a blast running around a huge airfield in the sunshine all day. Lola who was modelling, also runs dress company Violets in May (shop link here) and had custom made some stunning pieces for the shoot, do check her company out as she makes some amazing stuff!
The Tikis we used for the shoot were carved by the super talented Tiki Paul (I already own one of his amazing pieces) and Paul also kindly lent his cars for the day too. He even let me drive the Buick, what a nice guy!
I decided to change up Lola’s hair with her different dresses and we started with a big victory roll look, before creating a rockabilly style updo complete with tropical flowers and finally a rolled fringe look with flowing curls. Here’s a little of the behind the scene’s goings on…
I love the edited images, so much colour and light. Big thanks to everyone involved for making it such a fun day!
I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine as much as I am. I have another fab sunny shoot to share with you next wee, this time a 1940s look but until then I’ll be in the garden catching some rays!
