Better late than never, here’s my round up of Vintage Day. I had a fab day working with Hednas hosts Harry and Edna at their tea dance in the incredible Spiegeltent at the MK International Festival. We had a fully booked morning in my pop-up vintage hair parlour and even managed to fit a few more in for victory rolls along the way.
The event was full of people dressed in fantastic 1940s fashions and ready to dance, so the their was a fantastic atmosphere in the place. The Cambs & Beds Lindy Experience. (C&BLE) started it all off with a dance lesson to get everyone up on their feet and they even got us all up later again in the afternoon for some fun routines, that even I managed, which shows you what good teachers they must be! There were also fantastic performances from the Bevin Boys and My Favourite Things so whether you wanted to sit and watch the performances or hit the dance floor there were some really toe-tapping tunes. As well as a full bar there was yummy tea and cake provided to keep everyone’s energy up and the sunshine was shining, which did make for a hot day but a fun one none the less.
After my styling parlour closed I joined in the dancing and caught up with fab friends including Charly of the amazing Restoration Cake and her lovely partner Chris and amazing dress maker Sally Sweetlove who was dressed to perfection as always. My partner Tom and good friend Kat from Rose-tinted Vintage also came along with a host of other lovely friends from Bedford to make quite a crowd at our booth!
After the tea dance part of the day we headed for the Moroccan bar and an afternoon of Prosecco & chocolate cake that the talented Charly had made for Edna’s birthday. Later we headed out for dinner and then to the Puppini Sisters gig, followed by the Guilded Lily Cabaret. It was such a great day so a BIG thanks to my Hednas family for having me on board!
