Tying A Vintage Style Turban

Following on from my recent Vintage Life magazine turban tutuorial here’s my latest  step by step.

You’ll want a piece of fabric approx 1 metre long and half a metre wide, if you want it as a full coverage turban, or smaller for a more headband style. For this look I plaited my hair into two long plaits and then pinned them across the top of my head Frida Kahlo style, this works really well under the turban and gives it a bit more height.

Follow the images and steps below for a great glam anwser to lazy vintage hair!

Step 1: Take a long piece of fabric and tie it in a center knot.

Step 2: Take one of the sides and twist it.

Step 3: Roll up the twisted side (to create height) and tuck it in, then secure it in place with a few hair grips.

Step 4: Repeat with the other side.

Step 5: Add some flowers to the side of the knot.

You can find my turban inspiration Pinterest board here and I have a range of vintage style pre-sewn turbans available to buy on my Instagram and Facebook pages too!
